Learn how to Create Mosaics with Slate
This class is a series of pre-recorded videos that you can watch whenever you like. You will learn methods for preparing and cutting slate and smalti, along with several different techniques for using slate in your mosaic artwork. This course is hosted by Mosaic Arts Online and can be purchased at anytime via their website.
Mosaic Membership
Join my membership and receive monthly inspiration for your mosaic making! This online community features monthly live teaching sessions and artist interviews.
Each teaching session features a presentation, a practical demonstration and time for questions. All sessions are recorded and stored inside the membership platform, giving you access to a library of resources to support your mosaic practice.
You also become part of an active community group that provides feedback, inspiration and support.
Online Mini Mosaic Workshop
The mini-mosaic workshop is a 3 part video series to take you on a journey from concept to creation. By the end of the workshop, you will have created your own mini mosaic masterpieces.
If you’re a beginner to the world of mosaics this is a great place to start and unleash your creativity. If you’re advanced you can fine-tune your skills and challenge yourself to create a larger series.
The course features presentations and practical demonstrations, so you understand the theory and the practice.
Mosaic Kits
These kits are suitable for beginners and those who are interested in learning to use slate and thinset/tile adhesive.
Each kit contains all the materials you need to make your mosaic, as well as access to step by step video instructions. No specialist tools are required.
These kits are intended for adults and are not suitable for children.
Online Workshop
Unlock the Potential of your Mosaic Materials
Create mosaics full of texture! In this 5 session online course, taught live weekly via zoom we will explore what your materials can do. You will discover new ways of using everyday mosaic materials, whether it is glass tiles, a broken plate, or some pebbles from the beach. Each material holds so much potential.
We’ll go through a series of exercises, looking at cutting techniques, examining surfaces, experimenting with ways to set pieces into a bed of adhesive, to create a whole range of interesting surfaces and textures.
I’ll then show you how you can apply what you have learnt to start creating your own pieces of mosaic art.
Online Workshop
Creating Abstract Mosaics Inspired by Nature
In this six week course we’ll follow a step by step process to develop a design, select materials and build a mosaic inspired by textures and patterns in nature.
This course is taught live online via zoom. This class will be available again in 2024.
In Person Workshop
Slate Mosaics
In this one day workshop you will create a piece of mosaic art, using slate as the main material. The class will cover methods for preparing slate as well as different techniques for using it in a mosaic. A variety of glass is also provided to add in to your mosaic. You will be assisted in creating your own design based on your choice of materials. This class is suitable for beginners as well as those who have some experience of making mosaics.
